Alyson & Ben : Naples, Florida Engagement photography

>> Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Oh Naples, Its funny. Where you grow up you just want to leave... I believe there is a saying that you don't know a good thing till its gone. Well one thing I now say is that this is as north {orlando} as I'll ever live. Its colder up there and I'm not a fan of how spread out Orlando seems too be. So my plan is to shoot more in Naples. I get to be by my family. Its really nice. They appreciate it too. Even in the dog population in our house multiplies 2 times. They are amazing, crazy, total reality potential family. Let's just say the kardashians have nothing on us. But we love each other. I also am loving shooting in new locations. I mean its a breath of fresh air. plus I stole my moms bike! It makes a cameo appearance. I was really excited about that!

We met in Kindergarden, We were ducklings and oh so cute {I bet}! Alyson and I went to Kindergarden, yes I said Kindergarden together!! But we also went all the way threw high school together and now I am her wedding photographer! What I remember most about Alyson was how kind and caring she was. Just very observant to everyones feelings. Alyson and Ben are getting married in the Fall! I can't explain how excited I am! We are like pen pals now, writing so many emails... I thought Ben would think I was trying to steal her away... But its not possible. These two click so well. There's a spark and an intense magnetic pull between them. I really think I captured them too! I love seeing and meeting people in love. One of my favorite parts of my job is that I get to make people kiss! Oh and I must say they were up for anything, any location, random props, even long emails about my doggies! We love our dogs so it works so well! Enjoy so Naples Romance! ....

Yesterday I had the pleasure of capturing Ms. Shaylee. She was tiny, cute, and only 10 days old. Total mini rockstar. She let us do almost all of the poses we wanted. Which of course made my heart swoon! She looks like a doll in all of these pictures. This is a tiny sneak peek. I wanted to share my favorites from the day. One of my new years goals for my biz. Is too blog the day after the shoot. Her parents were amazing as well. They were so calm and comfortable in front of the camera as well as with Shaylee. Thank you for letting me capture her. I had so much fun! A superbowl morning to remember. {I really wanted to start off this blog post with a Whoo dat. but Im not even a Saints' fan... yes insert gasp and awes here but I am glad the colts lost. For one they broke Marks hopes and dreams... well more like crushed them into smithereens. And Im not a fan of cocky people. I never have been. cough cough payton manning. cough.... anyhoo here's some utter and complete cuteness....

SO being me. I have plans I am a planner. Perhaps more of a dreamer. But I can honestly say that planning is a good and bad thing. But I'm fine with it. Like how I keep planning vacations. There must be a point that I stop, right? Wrong! I have so so many planned vacations. I'm starting to think If I could only wrap them into a 4 month trip it might work out. and i might catch up. So we shall see. I unfortunately have no vacation plans yet but I do have many other business plans. I'm going to be announcing the coolest sessions ever! oh yah they are that cool! pictures and fun stuff to come soon! However I leave you with a fun blog post! These girls are fantastic. {so are the boys} As most of you know I have 2 fantastic beautiful sisters! They are fun! But we are spread out some so it was sort of hard to relate to each other growing up. but now that we are so old we are starting too mesh very well if I do say so myself. These girls are so close together you would think they were triples. Each with the same yet different personalities. They have BIG HUGE fun personalities too! Then the older boys are just as fun! I just love seeing 3 girls together because of my family!!! Enjoy the pictures have a delightful day!

This is my dad. And I will so be using his bike for a photo shoot... oh and thats Maggie in the basket. Cute side note. They have two of my pups from Lizzies litter. Maggie and Theodore. Theo is gigantic! I don't know how that happened. His parents are only 4 pounds each, but alas Theo rocks the 9 - 10 lbs mark. Boy does he like to eat. :) Theo also gets bike sick, apparently he was throwing up over the side of the basket. Im laughing so hard right now trying to type this story. Next visit to Naples I'm determined to get some great pictures of my parents and their fluffy pups!

Music Is a huge deal too me! its way up there. I'm under the impression that I do everything better with Music. I'm talking writing, running, editing kindof stuff. Yah there must be some sort of focusing mechanism. Whatever it is I'm for it! As of right now I'm bringin back Incubus when they rocked. I mean they rock now but not as hard as when they created Morning View. In fact I will go as far as to say that Morning view was the best, their World Series Winning Moment! Yah I said it. Either way they helped to edit some musical pictures. Here Is Ken's Pictures. He is extremely talented and completely entertaining when on stage. I really enjoyed photographing his performance at the social! Please enjoy the Pictures!

History needs to repeat itself!

Lots of people don't know this about me but I used to be a potter. I mean, hard core... Move to like Asheville North Carolina, Potter. We are talking overalls and no shoes! I prob wouldn't even use my straighten, kind of potter. Well than parts not true. But I loved it! I loved getting messy and it was freaking amazing when I would create this bowl, mug, or what have you out of dirt. Full on dirt. I love drinking my tea or coffee out of something I created. I starting playing with dirt my freshman year of high school. I was taught by the wonderful, Mrs. Torrance. She was amazing! I learned so much from her. Then I graduated and went to FAU. I went into overtime finishing my pre-recs to get into a pottery class. That was when I met my professor Mr. McCoy! Talk about a Potter. He was kind, patient. An incredible teacher. I learned so much about myself then. I knew that I was happy. i knew that if I won the lotto I would have a studio and this would be my thing. Well after I left college I haven't found a place to get dirty again. I emerced myself deeper into just photography. Building my business and I see my photos and I love them. All the while feeling as if they are inspired by my dirty messy past. That might be why I love the vintage look. I love textures and it is just one other way for me to create. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE photography, Photography is my thing. But I also was really great at pottery! In-fact my mother won't give me all my great pieces back. Which is fine. The only thing is that I feel like I really started to find my niche in Pottery. Like unique 'me-esq' type of things. That's just one more thing I would love to add to my crazy life! But now you might see why I have an attachment to the vintage, dirty looking, sun-inspired pictures.
