{which is a great movie btw, sure made me laugh}

Lets talk about first looks today. This is a relativity new tread that is catching on with modern couples. First looks are where you see each other before you walk down the aisle... {insert gasps and awes here} Yes I said it! I suggest talking to your photographer about the pros and the cons. Really think if it is for you. Talk to other couples that have done it. Most first looks are done in private. Its a moment shared by just the two of you you both will probably say things that you will never forget. Those minutes together could possibly be your favorite part of the day. All of the stress and nerves tend to evaporate. So you are just there together. Im not going to lie that moment can be extremely powerful.

So there is a practical reason to go along with all the sappy romantic stuff. You will get most of your formal photography before the ceremony, allowing you to head straight into the reception and visit with your guests. So picture this... He's waiting for you and your walking up behind him. He turns around and sees you... {insert tears, wide eyes, and omg[sh] words here} All that is captured. Then when you too are ready we will go straight into your formal portraits of just the two of you. Thats around 20-30 mins. Then you can invite your wedding party and we can capture those pictures {20 mins} and if you would like to invite your family for your formal portraits we can do that then as well. Or after the ceremony, thats also approx. 20 mins. . . then you can go straight to the reception. Simple as pie! Then time to Party! Plus you will get way- WAY more photos of the two of you if you choose to see each other before hand.

Most people get married in the afternoon/evenings, so there's only 10-30 mins of good light left in the day. The problem is its hard to find Aunt Mary sometimes, and people forget and leave right after the ceremony. So rounding up people takes some time. There is always that one family member who changed clothes and headed to the reception and we will have to wait for them to come back.

When you walk down the aisle you tend to think about not tripping, there's also about 75 cameras going off, which can make you even more nervous. It flies by so fast, no matter how slow you walk down the aisle. Its almost like you get to have these 2 extremely special moments. You can relax, knowing you have seen each other before hand and now you can focus on your guest gawking at how amazing you look. Don't forget about the time alone you get to spend with your husband. There are so many people that want to see you on your wedding day that its easy to loose each other

Please remember it is your day. Do what you want and what you in vision. I'm hear to tell you your options. I know that you have an uber amount of things to decided on but I want my brides {& grooms} to be well informed & Happy!
